Do you know how a CVD seed crystal grows into a rough diamond? The process can be broken down into four key steps:
Seed Preparation: A high-quality diamond seed crystal is selected and meticulously cleaned to remove all surface impurities.
Gas Introduction and Activation: The seed is placed in a chamber where a mixture of gases, like methane and hydrogen, is introduced. Under high temperature (around 900-1000°C) and low pressure, these gases are activated into carbon plasma.
Crystal Growth: Driven by microwave energy, carbon atoms from the plasma deposit onto the seed crystal, building a new diamond layer by layer in an ordered structure.
Finishing and Inspection: Once the growth phase is complete, the rough diamond is cut and undergoes rigorous quality inspection and grading.
